L125 - Brass Star Trunk Lock & Key

A rare early trunk lock from thick solid brass marked "Star Lock W'ks Phila.". This is for the large lock base only with the original large barrel key. Some trunks still have the top lock hasp and a broken or missing lock base. Very high quality and large.

Measures 3 5/8" tall and 5 3/8" wide. The center of the hasp slot is 1 1/4" from the top of the lock base and is 1/4" wide.

This has a large fancy keyhole escutcheon. Made of heavy gauge brass with large copper rivets. The rear lock mechanism is iron and steel. The key is unique and extra hard to find. It works very well. The trunk needs a cutout in the base 2 1/2" wide by 2 3/8" tall.
