L111 - RARE 1883 Brass Eastlake Trunk Lock & Key - SOLD 09/2024

A very rare solid brass antique Eastlake style trunk lock with the original barrel key.

This is marked with the patent date Oct 2, 1883 on the back side. You may never see another one like this!

This measures a total 6 1/4" tall and 3 1/2" wide to the edges. The lock is in very good used condition with a few scratches and dings, but perfect for antique trunks. See pictures for details of the condition and style. This is heavy and very well made and is much heavier weight than any new reproduction trunk lock. This style lock was used on high-grade trunks of the 1880s to early 1900s. This is a surface lock so no hole is required, but you could mount it over a hole from another lock. Install with trunk nails or rivets.

Old authentic American made locks look much better on antique trunks than those reproduction locks made in other countries, and they will increase the value of your trunk. This ornate Eastlake style lock is quite hard to find and would look great on a beautiful trunk or chest.
