T112 - Antique Tramp Art Chest

Size: 17" wide, 8" tall, 13 1/2" deep.

A nice example of the intricately carved "Tramp Art" boxes or chests made during the late 1800's to early 1900's. This one is nicely carved and in original condition! The top and sides all have a velvet covered area, in burgundy. The interior is covered with old printed fabric. There is a crack across the bottom, see pictures. The box is very strong, made of thick wood, covered with the layered carved wood pieces. There are a few small chips on the carved areas but nothing very noticeable. The box has a lock but no key. These were made in a variety of sizes and styles. Great for holding jewelry, cards, papers, sewing items, etc.; or just to display with your collection!
