T118 - Antique Embossed Metal Doll Trunk

Size: 16" wide, 13" tall, 11" deep (front to back).

A large antique doll trunk in original unrestored condition. This is from the late 1880's to early 1900's and is made of wood with original fancy embossed metal covering, wood slats, and metal slat clamps. Some people want to find a nice doll trunk to restore themselves or prefer to keep one in it's unrestored condition. So I am offering this unusual and collectible trunk for someone to restore or preserve. Please view all the pictures as part of the description and for more on the condition. This would not be difficult to restore if desired but some small repairs may be needed including side handles.

This is larger and taller than most doll or toy trunks which makes it more impressive than many others. It's a very sturdy trunk and heavy for it's size. The embossed metal has a beautiful blackberry and vine pattern. The original lock is complete with the latch, but there is no key. The interior still has the old printed paper lining and Victorian lithographs and trim. This has a nice all wood lift out tray with the compartment cover. The trunk bottom is all wood in very good clean condition. Great for a restoration project or to display as-is with your trunks or special dolls; or to hold jewelry, cd's, tapes, etc.!
