M116 - Antique Iron Trunk Latches #1

A pair of antique trunk latches in the style patented in 1882 and used by many trunk makers. These are marked with the 1 on the top (the size). Made of cast iron in a Victorian design. Measure 3 3/4" tall by 2 1/8" wide when latched together, measured to the edges. These were made in sizes 1 through 5, with 1 being the smallest. Used on many small and medium size trunks. They are clean with most of the old black paint, can easily be painted if desired. See pictures for details of the condition and design. They work well and are complete. These are all cast iron. Used on trunks from 1882 to early 1900's. Install with trunk nails and/or rivets. Very hard to find in good, complete condition.
