M129 - Pair #4 Antique Trunk Latches

A pair of antique trunk latches or catches in excellent condition. These are heavy duty CAST IRON and have the "4" marked on the top pieces. These were made in sizes 1 through 5 with 5 being the largest. The #4 size were very popular for use on medium and large trunks. A style used from about 1878 to the early 1900s.

Size: 5 3/4 tall by 2 7/8" wide when latched together, measured to the edges. A size used on many trunks. They work well and are clean with an old silver (tinned) finish with some wear. Perfect for antique trunks or even new chests. These are not painted but can be if you want. Please see all pictures for condition details. Attach with trunk nails and/or rivets.
