L112 - Eagle Trunk Lock & Key - SOLD 11/2024

A new old stock (unused) brass plated steel trunk lock, marked "EAGLE LOCK COMPANY TERRYVILLE CONN USA 8446" with one original Eagle marked key! A standard size trunk lock that measures 6" tall and 2 1/4" wide at the base, and the top receiver piece is 3 3/4" wide and 3" high. (a total of 6 1/2" high when locked together measured to the edges) A standard size for most trunks and this is the same as Corbin, Excelsior, or Yale locks of this style. The lock is in near mint condition with a slightly aged brass finish, perfect for antique trunks! This is well made with a brass locking mechanism and is heavier weight than the new reproduction locks of this style. Eagle Lock went out of business in the mid 1950's. This style lock was used on many trunks of the early to mid-1900's. This is a surface lock so does NOT require a hole in the lid of the trunk. This one has the extra loop in the center so that you could put an extra padlock on it if desired. Old authentic American made locks look much better on antique trunks than those foreign made reproduction locks, plus they will increase the value of your trunk. (It is very obvious to most people when you put a new reproduction lock on an antique trunk. This is not a reproduction lock!)
