T121 - Antique Tramp Art Chest

Size: 11" wide, 6" tall, 6 3/4" deep.

An excellent example of the intricately carved "Tramp Art" boxes or chests made during the late 1800's to early 1900's. This small one is very nicely carved and in original condition! The top has a beautiful raised beaded section. The sides all have a velvet covered area, in burgundy and dark green. The front has the gold letters C and V and some fancy brass trim. The interior is wood and the front and back are covered with old printed paper. The box is very strong, made of thick wood, covered with the carved wood pieces. The box has a small lock but no key. These were made in a variety of sizes and styles. Great for holding jewelry, cards, papers, sewing items, etc.; or just to display with your collection! A real collectible item with a great original look and very hard to find in with the beaded decoration. Please see all the pictures for details of the condition and style.
