T125 - Flat Top Wooden Trunk, Key & Tray - SOLD 07/2023

Size: 30" wide, 22" tall, 19" front to back.

A beautiful flat top wooden trunk from the 1890's to around 1900 complete with the original wooden inner tray and the working lock. A well built trunk which has lots of strong hardware, braces, and steel latches. It's made from thick pine with elm slats, showing beautiful woodgrain. The bottom is very clean and has the wood slats with new glides to protect your floors. The lock was made by the Yale & Towne Company with the original barrel key. The thick leather handles are original style replacements. The interior of the trunk has been completely cleaned and the wood refinished. There is a label from the L.E. Morrison & Company "Bee Hive Trunk Factory" in Indianapolis, Indiana. Also some colorful Victorian trim in the lid and a reproduction print showing ladies fashions of the early 1900's. The trunk is in excellent restored condition and has a finish that is very durable and smooth.
