T126 - Hide Covered Document Box 1850's

$145.00

Size: 14" wide, 6 1/2" tall, 9" deep.

A beautiful and rare small document box (sometimes called bank boxes back in that time) from the early to mid 1800's. This one is in excellent condition with deer hide, many handmade brass tacks, and leather trim! It has the original rolled leather handle on top. It is lined in an early printed paper and has an interesting label from E.A.G. Roulstone of Boston! The iron and brass lock is original but is missing part of the hasp, and it has the brass keyhole cover. The box is very strong, made of thick wood, covered with the thin hide, brass tacks and leather trim. Great for holding jewelry, cards, cd's, papers, etc. or just to display with your collection! The trunk of course shows expected signs of age and use such as a few small cracks in the hide covering, etc. Please see all the pictures as part of the description. A real collectible item with a great original look and very hard to find. Send any questions you may have to Marvin@ThisOldTrunk.com
