T114 - Knights Templar Hat & Case

Size: 20 1/2" long, 11" tall, 7" wide.

An amazing Knight Templar Dress Chapeau (Hat) with ostrich plume and a Sir Knight Rosette with Red Cross on the side! This is complete with the original leather covered case which has the top handle and closing strap and buckle. This was made by the William Horstmann Company of Philadelphia in the early 1900's and it's in wonderful condition. The hat has the Horstmann label inside and the size tag, 7. The embroidered cross is in excellent condition, a silver bordered red cross, on a black oval medallion with the fancy border. I doubt you could find an early one like this in better condition.

It's the only one I've ever found in very nice complete condition. The Wm. Horstmann company was established in 1816 and they made many types of military uniforms and equipment. A great piece of Knights Templar history!
